What to Expect
Led by Jason Cooper, MD, Certified in mind-body medicine by Jim Gordon's CMBM.
Virtual 8-week sessions (plus one bonus check-in session) on Wednesday evenings by Zoom.
Our goal is to help you:
Build resilience, focus, and self-compassion
Deepen insight by recognizing patterns of stress and trauma
Learn grounding skills to approach life’s difficulties as opportunities for healing and learning
Participants share and practice vulnerability in a safe space while connecting with others on a shared healing journey and receive access to our video library.
This group series is grounded in the work of Dr. James Gordon, the founder of the Center for Mind Body Medicine, who is recognized for his use of self-awareness, self-care, and group support for healing. Mind-body skills groups equip participants with tools and support to change their experience of life and how they relate to themselves and to others. These groups have also been proven to decrease stress, depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbance.

Sample 8-week Curriculum

Overview of mind-body medicine. Experiential with drawings for self-expression.

Biology of mind-body medicine. Understanding and experiencing autogenics and biofeedback.

Meditation in the context of mind-body medicine and meditation practice.

Guided Imagery as a mind-body approach. Exploring and experiencing guided imagery.

Emotions and how they impact us. Experiential with the use of mindful dialogue to access inner wisdom.

Food as medicine, exploring our relationship with food. Experiential with mindful eating.

Spirituality and Forgiveness in relation to mind-body medicine, exploring the possibility of forgiveness and healing. Experiential with imagery & meditation.

Ceremony and ritual as mind-body approaches, and understanding their impact. Closing ceremony.
